Sometime it's necessary to hide a menu item, or to link to a page without adding it to a visible site menu. This page will guide you through the steps on how to achieve this.
Adding a Menu Item to the 'Private Pages' Menu
- Go to
Menus > Private Pages - This will display a list of menu items that are hidden from view.
- Click on the top-left 'New' button to add a new menu item.
- Follow the steps for adding a new menu item.
- Your article will now be visible on the site as a direct URL, e.g youreventsite.com/hidden-page-title
Hide a Menu Item
Another way to hide a menu item, but still keep the structure of a url, is to directly hide the item from the menu itself. To do this:
- Click on the menu, then either click on the menu item you want to hide, or create a new menu item.
- Navigate to the Link Type tab.
- Scroll down to the Display In Menu toggle.
- Toggle on / off to change the menu item visibility.
- The page will be accessible via a direct URL, but will not show in the menu, e.g. youreventsite.com/internal-page/custom-url
